Allium senescens 'Blue Twister'
Corkscrew Ornamental Onion
Quick Facts :: Growing Tips
Legend
Description:
12” x 10” wide (seed & division propagated). A High Country Gardens selection of Allium senescens, this cultivar was selected from a large group of seed-grown plants for its noticeably brighter, blue-green foliage. In the garden, ‘Blue Twister’ is very attractive with its distinctive corkscrew leaves and summer-long display of lavender-pink flowers (deadheading keeps the new flowers coming). Plant in among groundcovers that have gray foliage: Cerastium, Marrubium, and Woolly Thyme are all good choices. An easy-to-grow plant in any garden soil.
Zones 3-8
Special Notes:
Plant with Cerastium tomentosum, Marrubium and Woolly Thyme!
