Comments about High Country Gardens Achillea millefolium Red Velvet:

This plant is fast-growing with very few demands. We're living in a very arid area and a lot of plants need too much care and don't do so well here. We just established a garden for a new home and I love the way it spread and bloomed and immediately created a focus point.

Comments about High Country Gardens Achillea millefolium Red Velvet:

Sorry, because this is my second review. I can't figure out a way to edit my first review. In my first review I gave this plant a poor rating because I thought the blooms were white. I spoke too soon because the buds had not fully opened and the buds are white until they open up.

Nice plant, beautiful foliage and color. The plant has red blooms just as advertised. (:

Comments about High Country Gardens Achillea millefolium Red Velvet:

I planted two of these last fall. They made it through a rather rough winter with no issues. They are both about 8" tall and look full and healthy. I can't wait for them to bloom.

          Q & A

          USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

          • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
          • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
