Lysimachia clethroides
Gooseneck Loosestrife
Description:
30” x 30” wide (cutting propagated) This perennial is spectacular in flower, with each of its glowing white flower spikes bent over like a goose’s neck (hence the common name). Lysimachia is an aggressive spreader in moist, fertile, sunny perennial beds, which is why I find it to be much more useful as an accent plant in dry semi-shade under deciduous trees and tall shrubs. Whenever you plant under trees, be sure to dig out a large, wide hole, removing competing roots to give your new transplants a good head start. Grown in 3 1/2” pots. Zones 4-9.
Special Notes:
Plant with Monarda ‘Petite Delgiht in front of Caryopteris!
