Description:
36” x 18” wide, (seed propagated). This valued native of the midwestern prairies is both colorful and useful. Long blooming, with light pink petals that sweep gracefully backwards from the cone, E. angustifolia is at home in both the perennial border and the wildflower garden. Extracts from the fleshy root are used in herbal medicine as an antiviral agent and immune system builder. Prairie Purple Coneflower thrives in average garden soils but will take 2 growing seasons to reach its full blooming size. Zones 4-9.

Plant with Centranthus ruber, Coreopsis ‘Sunray’ and Salvia pitcheri!
